Munch & Bite

Privacy Policy

Last updated: [Restaurant: insert last updated date]

Munch & Bite respects the privacy of the people who visit our website, create an account, place an order, join our loyalty program, redeem a promotion, or contact us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

1. Scope and relationship to Restomer

This policy applies to information collected by or for Munch & Bite through this website and our online ordering service. The website and ordering technology may be provided by Restomer, which acts as a technology service provider to us. Your order, food, delivery, pickup, promotions, loyalty program, and customer relationship are with Munch & Bite.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address, telephone number, account credentials, and communication preferences
  • Your delivery address, building access details, pickup or delivery instructions, and order notes
  • Your order history, items selected, item modifiers, dietary or allergy notes you choose to provide, loyalty activity, promotions, credits, and refunds
  • Information about your interaction with our website, such as device type, browser, IP address, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your address or device settings, cookies, analytics events, and security logs
  • Messages, feedback, reviews, support requests, and other information you send to us
  • Payment status, transaction references, payment method type, and the last four digits of a card where made available by the payment provider

3. Payment information

Online payments are processed by Stripe or another payment provider enabled for our restaurant. Card numbers, CVV or CVC codes, and other full payment-card credentials are collected and processed directly by the payment provider. Munch & Bite and Restomer do not store those raw card details in this website.

Payment providers may collect and use your information under their own terms and privacy notices. Payment authorization, settlement, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, fraud reviews, wallet availability, and bank processing times are determined by the applicable payment provider and financial institutions.

4. How we use information

We use personal information for legitimate restaurant operations, including:

  • Creating and managing customer accounts and authenticating account access
  • Accepting, confirming, preparing, packaging, fulfilling, cancelling, refunding, and supporting orders
  • Providing delivery quotes, arranging delivery or pickup, communicating with drivers, and resolving fulfillment issues
  • Sending transactional communications, including order confirmations, receipts, pickup-ready notices, delivery updates, password-reset messages, and service notices
  • Operating loyalty programs, promotions, gift or discount codes, and customer rewards
  • Responding to questions, complaints, feedback, access requests, and customer-service matters
  • Protecting our customers, staff, website, and business from fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unauthorized activity
  • Improving our menu, service, ordering experience, website performance, and customer communications
  • Meeting legal, accounting, tax, food-safety, recordkeeping, insurance, dispute-resolution, and regulatory obligations

5. Marketing communications

We may send offers, promotions, loyalty messages, and restaurant news only where you have provided consent or where otherwise permitted by applicable law. You can opt out of promotional messages using the unsubscribe link in an email or by changing your communication preferences where available.

Opting out of marketing does not stop essential transactional messages about an order, account security, refunds, delivery, pickup, legal notices, or changes affecting an active service.

6. When we share information

We may disclose information to service providers and business partners that need it to perform services for us, including:

  • Restomer and its infrastructure, security, hosting, support, analytics, email, image, domain, geocoding, and database providers
  • Stripe or another enabled payment provider to authorize, process, refund, and protect payments
  • Delivery providers, drivers, dispatch platforms, and logistics partners when needed to quote, dispatch, track, or complete a delivery
  • Professional advisers, insurers, auditors, and government authorities where reasonably necessary or legally required
  • A purchaser, successor, or advisor in connection with a proposed or completed business transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards where required

We do not sell personal information for money. We may disclose information when required by law, court order, regulatory request, or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect people, property, rights, security, or to investigate suspected fraud or misuse.

7. Delivery, pickup, and third-party providers

If you request delivery, we may share the information required to fulfill it, including your name, address, phone number, order details, instructions, and delivery notes, with the delivery provider. Delivery providers may have their own privacy practices and terms. Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive information in delivery notes.

8. Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

We and our technology providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, logs, and similar technologies to remember your session, keep your cart and account functioning, understand website use, prevent fraud, improve performance, and measure marketing where enabled. Your browser may allow you to control certain cookies; however, disabling them can affect account, cart, checkout, or website functionality.

9. Data retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to fulfill orders, provide support, maintain records, manage loyalty and promotions, prevent fraud, comply with tax and legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and applicable law.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No online system is completely secure. Please protect your account credentials, use a strong password, and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. International processing

Our website and service providers may process or store information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions where they operate. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement agencies, or regulators under applicable law.

12. Your privacy choices and requests

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. You may also ask questions about our privacy practices or withdraw marketing consent. We may need to verify your identity before responding and may retain or decline to remove information where permitted or required for legal, security, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute, or operational reasons.

13. Children

Our online ordering service is not directed to children who are not legally able to enter into a purchase transaction in their jurisdiction. Do not provide personal information for a child unless you are authorized to do so. If you believe a child has provided us information without appropriate authorization, contact us.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes to our restaurant, technology, legal requirements, or practices. The current version will be posted on this website with a revised "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the website, email, or another appropriate method where required.
